Merit Circle Water Toren 2.0 — Thank you all for coming!
We’re incredibly excited to have welcomed everyone at the third annual Merit Circle community event in Amsterdam on the 11th of May. Joined by a handful of our partners that have been displaying their games, it’s been nothing short of amazing. With presentations from Merit Circle by Marco and Steven, and from TrialXtreme by its founder Doron, everyone got indulged by the future of gaming.
With some exclusive Beam shirts handed out, and networking all around, it’s safe to say that we truly have one of the best communities out there. The recordings of the presentations are being prepared as we speak, and will find their way to those who did not attend soon. Small recap below.
$MC to $BEAM token migration
The Merit Circle token $MC is migrating to $BEAM. Last year in October, both MIP-28 and MIP-29 were accepted, and the migration has been going on ever since. To date, over 6,000 individuals have migrated their $MC to $BEAM, accounting for more than 96% of all $MC.

Merit Circle ecosystem treasury report for Q1 2024 showcases a growth of approximately $94M and a total treasury size of approximately $201M
We are delighted to share the Merit Circle ecosystem’s first quarterly Treasury report of 2024.
As always, this report is intended to provide a transparent overview of the Treasury’s current financial status. In the report, we share a breakdown of the Treasury as of March 31st 2024, including current investments and other financial activities.

New games building on Beam
We’re thrilled to continuously have a large influx of exciting games joining the Beam network. Following names such as TrialXtreme, Forgotten Playland, Castle of Blackwater, Edenhorde and many others we have recently added a variety of new games.
Forgotten Playland launched on the 25th of April
The moment we’ve all been waiting for, the launch of Forgotten Playland, is here! With eight party games available to play, hundreds of games have already taken place. To celebrate the launch, Forgotten Playland was present during the Merit Circle community event, where hundreds of people got to try the game.

Sophon, an entertainment-focused hyperchain on zkSync raises $60M through its node sale
Weeks after the news was shared that the zkSync hyperchain Sophon closed its seed round, its node sale was announced. Throughout a period of a few weeks, a total of 123,554 nodes were sold, amassing over $60M for Sophon’s ecosystem. Within the timeframe of the sale, it was communicated that another opportunity to acquire $SOPH tokens would soon be available.
As quoted by Sophon’s official website: “Users will, subject to the applicable terms and conditions, be able to stake certain assets to qualify for a $SOPH airdrop. The first asset announced is $BEAM, the native token of the Beam network.”
Crystals of Naramunz displays the power of the Beam SDK
Beam allows games to integrate with the wonders of blockchain technology in an easy manner. Seamlessly, players can interact with the Beam Network and mint NFTs, trade those NFTs, and vice versa. Crystal of Naramunz, an upcoming free-to-play hack 'n' slash action RPG, integrates Beam and displays the possibilities of the Beam SDK flawlessly. View the full video here.
